May 2-5, 2012. The annual meeting of the Population Association of America (PAA) will take place in San Francisco. The MRRC will be represented in several sessions by affiliated researchers and at the exhibit hall by our exhibit display.

Past Events

January 6-8, 2012. The annual meeting of the American Economics Association (AEA/ASSA) took place in Chicago, Illinois. The MRRC was represented in several sessions by affiliated researchers and at the exhibit hall by our display booth.

November 18-22, 2011. The annual meeting of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) was held in Boston. The MRRC was represented by affiliated scholars in the scientific and policy sessions and at the exhibit hall by our exhibit display.

November 3-5, 2011. The Fall Research Conference of APPAM -- the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management -- took place in Washington, DC. The MRRC was represented in several sessions by affiliated researchers and our publications were available for browsing.

The 13th Annual Conference of the Retirement Research Consortium, "Innovations in Retirement Security, took place on August 4-5, 2011, in Washington, DC at the National Press Club. View the agenda and papers.

The Center for Studying Disability Policy hosted a lunchtime seminar, Social Security Reform: The Consequences of Shrinking the Safety Net for Older Workers with Disabilities, on Thursday, December 2, 2010. More information about Disability Policy Research Forums.

August 2010. The 12th annual meeting of the Retirement Research Consortium, Retirement, Planning, and Social Security in Interesting Times, was held at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, on August 5 & 6, 2010. View the RRC conference agenda and papers.

The University of Michigan Record Update mentions MRRC's panel presentation Social Security and the Well-Being of Older Americans on April 12, 2010 at the Senate Visitor's Center.

March 2009. On March 20, the University of Michigan Retirement Research Center, the Brookings Institution, Wharton's Pension Research Council and Boettner Center, and The Retirement Security Project co-sponsored a conference on financial literacy and retirement preparedness. August 2006.  The Social Security Administration co-sponsored the Society of Actuaries' call for papers on retirement spending and changing needs during the retirement period.  As a cooperating organization, the MRRC circulated the attached call for papers.
