Austin Nichols

Austin Nichols is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Economics, a Research Fellow at the Office of Tax Policy Research, and a pre-doctoral trainee funded by the National Institute on Aging at the Population Studies Center, all at the University of Michigan. His fields of specialization are labor economics and public finance. Specific areas of interest include social security programs, tax policy, and aging. His current research includes a project examining the impact of proposed reforms to the OASI (Old Age and Survivors Insurance) program on the aggregate demand for securities. He holds a master’s in Public Policy from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago.
