David Bravo

David Bravo (MA,1996 and PhD(c), Harvard University) has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Chile since 1996. Since 2004, he has been a Population Studies Center Affiliate at the  University of Pennsylvania. His research interests are labor economics, empirical microeconomics, program evaluation, education, income inequality and social security. He has been the principal investigator in research projects financed by the Chilean Council of Science; the Secretaries of Labor, Education, and Finance; and the Research Network of the Inter-American Development Bank. He was advisor to the Minister of Labor and Social Security in Chile between 1990 and 1993. He has also worked in several projects involving education and labor markets in Chile and has published several papers and four books on these topics. He is the principal investigator of the First Social Security Survey in Chile.
