James Banks is Professor of Economics and Deputy Research Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies where he also directs the Centre for Economic Research on Ageing. He is Co-Principal Investigator of the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA) and Country Team Leader of the UK team in the Survey of Health and Retirement in Europe (SHARE).
