Marjorie Honig

Marjorie Honig is Professor of Economics at Hunter College and the Graduate School of the City University of New York. She has also held faculty positions at Rutgers University and the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. She is a member of the National Academy of Social Insurance, a past member of the Board of Outside Scholars of the Michigan Retirement Research Center, and has served as editor of the Social Insurance Research Network on Social Security, Pensions and Retirement Income. Her research interests focus on the economics of aging and retirement and include employee and household decisions regarding employment-based pensions and health insurance, white/minority differences in expected retirement wealth, and the effects of Social Security and private pensions on labor supply. Her recent research has been supported by the U.S. Department of Labor, Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration, and the Economic Research Initiative on the Uninsured, University of Michigan. She received the Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University.
